Lahore: The newly upgraded Nawaz Sharif Centre of Excellence for Early Childhood Education (NSCoE) has been formally inaugurated, introducing state-of-the-art learning facilities to Punjab’s public education system.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif led the inauguration ceremony, launched the enrolment drive, and personally inspected the fully renovated facility.
Historic Enrolment by Education Minister
In a landmark step to build public trust in state-run schools, Provincial Minister for School Education Rana Sikandar Hayat enrolled his young son, Rana Muhammad Yousaf Hayat, as the centre’s first official student. He became the first sitting provincial minister in Punjab to admit his own child into a government school system.

About the Centre
Originally founded by Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in 1988, the centre is located at 4-Shahra-e-Aiwan-e-Tijarat in Lahore. It has undergone a complete modern overhaul and now serves as Punjab’s flagship model preschool.
The centre uses international early-learning frameworks, including Reggio Emilia and constructivist inquiry-based approaches, combining playful learning with strong foundational skill development.
