University of Chitral

District Chitral, the largest in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, holds vast untapped economic opportunities. Its potential spans mineral extraction, hydropower, and tourism. The region also preserves traces of ancient civilizations, making it culturally significant.

Currently, two university campuses operate in Chitral: SBBU Sub Campus and AWKUM Sub Campus. Over time, both campuses have experienced steady growth in student enrollment. As a result, the demand for academic and residential facilities has increased dramatically. However, the current infrastructure fails to meet the needs of both male and female students. Therefore, there is an urgent need to establish a full-fledged university in Chitral.  Such a step would address the rising demand for higher education in the region.

By doing so, it seeks to develop professional and technological skills in its students. Moreover, it aspires to contribute to socio-economic development at local and global levels.
