Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) actively modernizes medical education in Pakistan. It was founded on June 1, 2012. Initially, JSMU incorporated the well known Sindh Medical College (SMC) as its first constituent. Soon after, the university expanded quickly. It established key offices such as admissions, examinations, administration, and finance. Shortly thereafter, the Institute of Pharmaceutical Science was launched.
Following this, JSMU added several new institutes. These include the APPNA Institute of Public Health, Institute of Health and Business Management, and Social Sciences. Additionally, the Sindh Institute of Oral Health Sciences joined. Institutes of Nursing, Family Medicine, Medical Education, Physical Rehabilitation, Medical Technology, and Reproductive and Genetic Health followed suit.
