The University of Engineering & Technology (UET) expanded its academic reach by establishing the Narowal sub campus in 2012, a project initiated under the leadership of then Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif. This initiative aimed to enhance educational opportunities in less developed regions of Punjab. The Narowal campus operates under UET Lahore and emphasizes hands on industrial and practical training.
UET Narowal offers undergraduate programs in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Computer Science & Engineering. Initially, the campus is set to enroll 480 students, with future plans for expansion.
Founded in 1921 as Mughal Pura Technical College, UET Lahore later evolved into Maclagan Engineering College. The institution’s main block was officially inaugurated in 1923 by the Governor of Punjab, Sir Edwards Maclagan.
Today, as a public university, UET Lahore functions under the supervision of the Governor of Punjab, who serves as its Chancellor. The university comprises seven faculties and 23 academic departments, focusing on engineering, technology, business, and scientific research.
UET is recognized among Pakistan’s leading engineering institutions by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). In 2010, QS World University Rankings placed UET Lahore at 281st position globally in engineering and technology. Additionally, the university is responsible for conducting the Engineering College Admission Test (ECAT) annually in Punjab.

Sports
UET Narowal provides both indoor and outdoor sports facilities, including cricket, hockey, football, tennis, badminton, basketball, squash, table tennis, and athletics. The university organizes inter faculty and inter hostel tournaments to encourage student participation.
Talented athletes are given the opportunity to compete in inter university tournaments under HECs supervision. A highlight of the campus infrastructure is the sports complex, which features an Olympic size swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, a gymnasium, and a grand stadium.
Health Services
The university ensures medical care for students and staff through a dedicated health committee. In cases where students are too unwell to leave their rooms, doctors may visit hostels upon request from the Resident Tutor. Students are advised to maintain their health records with the medical officer for easy access to medical certifications when needed.

The campus houses multiple cafeterias catering to male, female, local, and international students. These cafes serve quality meals throughout the day and also provide additional conveniences such as banking services, shopping centers, and 24/7 ATMs.
