Located in Turbat, District Kech, the University of Turbat (UoT) serves the Makran Division. For years, the local population desired access to a nearby university. Eventually, their dream came true when UoT launched academic programs in May 2013. Since then, it has functioned as a fully independent university.
The university primarily aims to expand quality higher education across Balochistan. In particular, it supports students from remote and underdeveloped areas of Makran. These include Kech, Panjgur, Gwadar, and nearby districts like Awaran, Kharan, and Washuk. Through education, UoT strives to bridge gaps between regions and promote equality.
