In April 1974, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto laid the foundation of Peoples Medical College in Nawabshah. The institution was established to promote women’s access to quality medical education in Pakistan. Since its inception, it has produced over 8,000 female doctors serving in diverse healthcare sectors. Postgraduate programs officially began in 2004, opening doors to advanced clinical training for women. To date, nearly 2,000 postgraduate trainees have completed specialization in various medical fields.

Initially, the college functioned from makeshift facilities in Nawabshah city. These included classrooms at District Council High School and Muslim Boarding House buildings. Latif Hall served as the college auditorium, while two hostels accommodated early students. The college welcomed its first clinical batch comprising approximately [insert number] students.
