Fee Structure

Open merit students pay roughly PKR 140,000 per semester after the first one (tuition plus development, field trip, medical, sports and other funds). First semester costs more because of one-time charges:

  • Admission fee
  • Registration fee
  • Library and college security (refundable)

Self-finance students pay the same charges plus a large one-time lump-sum tuition for the whole degree. Exact numbers change, so always download the latest fee PDF from the official NCA website.

Students can request fee installments through the accounts office. Monthly payment is not standard, but two or more installments are sometimes allowed on request.

Admissions Information & How to Apply

Eligibility is simple: minimum 45% marks in FA, FSc, ICS, I.Com, A-Levels or equivalent. Third division is not accepted. No age limit.

Step-by-step process:

  1. Watch for the admission notice on nca.edu.pk and NTS website.
  2. Apply online through NTS. One form covers both campuses and multiple programmes.
  3. Pay prospectus and test fee, then submit attested documents (matric, Intermediate, domicile, CNIC/B-Form, photos).
  4. Sit the NCA aptitude and drawing test conducted by NTS. Architecture candidates also face math and spatial questions.
  5. Shortlisted candidates go for interview. A portfolio helps a lot.

Admissions usually open in summer. Entry test and interviews follow within weeks. Check the official sites for exact dates each cycle because they shift.

Documents needed: SSC and Intermediate certificates (attested), domicile, CNIC or B-Form, recent photos, and equivalence certificate if you studied abroad.

Scholarships

NCA students get several options:

  • PEEF scholarships for Punjab students with good results
  • Chief Minister and other provincial merit scholarships
  • Need-based fee concessions from NCA’s own financial aid committee
  • Quota grants for students from AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan and other regions
  • External schemes like NEST or Ehsaas when available

Apply through the education section soon after joining. Merit and need both matter. Hafiz-e-Quran and sibling discounts are not standard here.

Campus Life & Culture

Hostel is available only at the Lahore campus and seats are limited. Rooms are allotted first-come, first-served, mostly to out-of-city students, for one semester at a time. You must vacate during breaks. Girls and boys have separate hostels with wardens. Food is basic mess style. Many students prefer nearby private hostels or shared flats because college rooms fill fast.

Lahore campus sits right on The Mall next to the museum and old city. Transport is easy. Studios and labs are the real strength – drawing rooms, printmaking, ceramics, computer labs for design and multimedia, and film facilities. Equipment is decent but not always brand new. Class timings are regular day schedule with long studio hours.

Rawalpindi campus is quieter and has fewer programmes. The overall vibe is creative and intense. You spend long hours in studios. Alumni network is strong in advertising, architecture firms, film, galleries and teaching.

Compared with Punjab University College of Art & Design or private design schools, NCA has stronger brand recognition and better industry connections, especially for architecture and visual design. Fees are lower than most private options.
