Due to its remarkable achievements, The University of Education Campus enjoys a prominent status today. Over the years, it has built a strong reputation through consistent academic excellence and quality results. Although many already recognize its prestige, sharing its historical journey remains valuable for those still unfamiliar. Moreover, it is essential to acknowledge the devoted individuals who worked tirelessly to elevate this institution.
Founded in 1961, the institute began its operations in a building on Dijkot Road, owned by the Auqaf Department. However, that facility lacked the space needed to meet its ambitious educational goals.
Consequently, the university relocated to its current 23-acre campus to support its expanding vision. Initially, it was named Government College for Evaluators of Primary Education in West Pakistan, Lyallpur. Later, authorities renamed it Government Training College, Lyallpur. In 1976, it adopted a new identity as Government College of Education, marking a new chapter in its evolution.
