Established in 1980, the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir AJKU is a leading public institution. It operates across three campuses: Main Campus (Muzaffarabad), Neelum Campus (Athmuqam), and Jhelum Valley Campus (Hattian Bala). The Main Campus hosts four diverse faculties: Arts, Sciences, Engineering, and Health & Medical Sciences.
To begin with, the Faculty of Arts includes English, Urdu, Psychology, Sociology, and Islamic Studies. It also offers programs in Law, Mass Communication, Art & Design, and Management Sciences. In addition, it features the Institute of Kashmir Studies and Islamic Banking and Economy. Moving forward, the Faculty of Sciences covers Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, and Mathematics.
It also includes Biotechnology, Statistics, Computer Science & IT, and the Institute of Geology. Moreover, the Faculty of Engineering offers Software and Electrical Engineering programs. The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences includes Allied Health Sciences and Public Health departments. The Neelum Campus focuses on undergraduate education in English, Computer Science, and Geology.
