Sindh Agriculture University, Tando Jam, began its journey as a college in Tando Jam. Over time, it consistently promoted agricultural education across the province. As a result of these steady efforts, the college earned university status on March 1, 1977. The institution was renamed Sindh Agriculture University, Tando Jam.
Its main goals included advancing agricultural education and improving the quality of learning. The university also aimed to integrate teaching, research, and extension activities. Moreover, it focused on developing service-minded graduates and creating practical technologies for agriculture.
Pakistan is a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO). With global free trade agreements, agricultural universities face greater responsibilities. They must now train youth in diverse agricultural fields to meet international trade standards. This change demands a stronger commitment to quality education and research.
Therefore, faculty must design strategic plans to help farmers face WTO-driven challenges. We fully recognize our critical role in supporting agriculture during this transition. Our efforts aim to prepare students for global competition in agricultural services and trade.
