The University of Agriculture, Dera Ismail Khan (UAD), was chartered in March 2018. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Assembly passed the charter. HEC Pakistan officially recognizes the university. In Fall 2019, UAD launched its first academic session.
Meanwhile, the provincial government allocated Rs. 1000 million for its development projects. You can find the university near Qureshi Morr in Dera Ismail Khan. Currently, UAD offers various undergraduate and diploma level programs. Moreover, the university is expanding its research network.
It is establishing specialized research centers across the region. For example, the Date Palm Research Institute is being developed in Dhakki, D.I. Khan. Additionally, a Temperate Research Institute is planned for Wana. A Sugarcane Research Institute is also under development in D.I. Khan.
