The National University of Modern Languages began as an institute in 1969. Its goal was to help people communicate across diverse oriental and occidental languages. Moreover, it aimed to promote cultural understanding and support emerging academic fields. Initially, the institute offered language training primarily to Pakistan’s armed forces and government employees. Later, on May 29, 2000, it upgraded to a full university. Throughout this journey, it overcame many challenges to become a fully autonomous institution. Today, it serves as a center of learning, contributing knowledge both locally and globally. Currently, the university teaches 27 oriental and occidental languages alongside several new disciplines.
