The Provincial Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa established Swat UEAS University of Engineering & Applied Sciences to internationalize higher education and produce skilled professionals to tackle modern challenges.
Location and Background
Swat, known as the Switzerland of Pakistan for its breathtaking landscapes, stands among the country’s top tourist destinations. The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa allocated 7 billion Pakistani Rupees to establish Swat Engineering University under a three-year project (2020-2023).
Academic Programs and Campuses
UEAS offers BS, MS, and PhD programs in multiple disciplines, including
- Electrical Engineering
- Mining
- Materials and Metallurgy
- Computer Systems Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Oil/Gas Engineering
- Bioengineering
The university will establish campuses in Kabal, Barikot, Arkot, and Kalam, all located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
Financial Projection
UEAS operates as a public university. The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa funds 60% of its budget, while the remaining 40% comes from internal sources like teaching, research, consultancies, and industry collaborations.
Based on the fee structure of other public sector universities, we expect to generate at least PKR 102.5 million from teaching. As student enrollment increases, this revenue will grow further.
