Faisalabad Medical University (FMU) , formerly Punjab Medical College Faisalabad, began its journey under the passionate leadership of the late Prof. Dr. M. H. Toosy. Despite limited resources and difficult conditions, the institution laid its foundations with determination and vision.

To support medical training, authorities upgraded the District Headquarter Hospital to a 551 bed facility, affiliating it for academic use. By 1980’s, under the guidance of the second principal, the late Dr. F. M. Choudhry, construction of the main campus concluded. Consequently, in March 1982, all basic science departments relocated to the newly established premises.

Today, the university features state of the art departments, each equipped with independent lecture halls, audio-visual aids, laboratories, museums, and demonstration rooms. Dedicated office spaces support faculty operations and academic activities.
