The establishment of Azad Jammu and Kashmir University of Bhimber (AJ&KUoB) marks a major milestone in regional education. Officially founded on December 15, 2023, the university emerged after the Azad Jammu & Kashmir state assembly passed the AJ&KUoB Act.
Through this act, the former Bhimber campus of Mirpur University of Science and Technology transformed into an independent institution. This transition reflects a strong commitment to expanding access to higher education in Bhimber and nearby areas. The university emphasizes academic excellence, research innovation, and active community involvement.
Currently, AJ&KUoB hosts the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences along with six academic departments. These departments offer a diverse range of undergraduate degrees, including DVM, BS in Animal Sciences, LAD, BS in Botany, BS in Economics, BS in English, and BS in Human Resource Management. The institution is dedicated to empowering students with essential knowledge and practical skills for the future.
In addition, the university is working toward launching new academic programs in high-demand fields such as information technology, technical education, and healthcare. This forward-thinking approach supports the region’s growing educational and professional needs.
