Azad Jammu Kashmir Medical College (AJKMC) was established in 2011 as a public-sector institution in Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Pakistan. The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) recognizes the college, and the University of Health Sciences, Lahore, maintains its affiliation .Moreover, The college offers MBBS program with 500 students currently enrolled. Students receive clinical training at Combined Military Hospital Muzaffarabad and Abbas Institute of Medical Sciences.
The college introduced this initiative to address the regional shortage of medical professionals, a need that became critical after the 2005 earthquake. Moreover, It established its campus in the scenic Hindu Kush mountain range, where the Neelum and Jhelum rivers meet. The institution provides modern infrastructure to support faculty, staff, and students. Additionally, it publishes original research and academic reviews through its official journal, the Kashmir Journal of Medical Sciences.
