Bolan Medical College in Quetta was established in 1972. Six years later, it produced its first MBBS graduates. Since then, the college has trained over three thousand MBBS doctors.
In 1989, the college introduced its Dental Section. Initially, it admitted ten students annually for the BDS program. Later, the intake increased to 25 students per year.
The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council fully recognizes Bolan Medical College. It is also affiliated with the University of Balochistan for examinations. Furthermore, its inclusion in the World Directory of Medical Schools benefits graduates. They can apply for postgraduate exams in the USA, UK, and other countries.
Over time, the faculty has expanded significantly. As a result, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP) granted accreditation. It approved several clinical departments for postgraduate training. This includes MCPS, DCPS, and FCPS Part-2 programs.
Currently, CPSP fully accredits General Surgery, General Medicine, and Obstetrics and Gynecology. Pediatrics, Medicine, and ENT also hold full accreditation. Meanwhile, other departments and subspecialties have partial approval.
