Allama Iqbal Medical College (AIMC) was founded as part of a government initiative in the 1970s to advance medical education and research in Pakistan. Originally affiliated with Services Hospital, the college moved to its current campus in 1990, where it established Jinnah Hospital as its dedicated teaching and training facility.
Jinnah Hospital began operations in 1994, starting with the Outpatient Department (OPD). Over the years, it expanded to include Radiology, Radiotherapy, Pathology, Emergency, and specialized clinics, ensuring top tier healthcare and clinical training.

AIMC A Legacy of Excellence
1975 – Established as Lahore Medical College.
1977 – Renamed Allama Iqbal Medical College to honor the philosopher’s centenary.
1980 – Approved plans for a state-of-the-art medical complex.
1989 – College complex officially inaugurated by President Ghulam Ishaq Khan.
1990 – Relocated to its current campus and started construction of Jinnah Hospital.
1994 – Hospital operations began, including the OPD, Radiology, and Pathology.
1995 – Launched Emergency & Casualty and Diabetes Clinic.
With its renowned faculty and cutting edge facilities, AIMC remains a leading institution for medical education in Pakistan.
