Women University of Azad Jammu & Kashmir

The Women University of AJ&K Bagh began its journey in 2014. It was founded to expand access to quality higher education and research for women in the region. Notably, it stands as the only women-focused university in the state. Currently, the university hosts two major faculties: Science and Technology, and Arts and Social Sciences. Together, these faculties manage 14 academic departments offering diverse programs.

So far, the university has enrolled over 5,000 students across 36 undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate degree programs. Moreover, the university has upgraded its infrastructure to support modern education. It now includes advanced science and computer labs, a video conferencing room, and a seminar hall.

Additionally, classrooms feature contemporary furniture and scientific tools to enhance the learning experience. The government of AJ&K has allocated 2,025 kanals of land at District Headquarters Bagh. Land acquisition is currently underway to construct a permanent campus.
